Game of Truce Commemorative Football Match.
Team Army is proud to support and be part of the commemorative and deeply symbolic Game of Truce being re-enacted at Aldershot FC on 17th Dec. Watched by a host of military personnel, sporting stars, political figures and fans, the British Army will take on the soldiers of the German Bundeswehr at football to mark the 100th anniversary of the legendary game and exchange of gifts above the trenches in December 1914.
Team Army played a key role in the planning of the Game of Truce by finding sponsors to support this historically significant event. We are delighted that Babcock Land has generously stepped in as the headline sponsor and that Driver Hire has agreed to be a main supporting sponsor for the event and the VIP reception. We welcome them and the many other companies including Aspire, Sodexo and Sainsbury’s that have contributed to what we hope will be a fitting tribute to the extraordinarily poignant moment of truce and reconciliation that ensued 100 years ago.
