In November of 2017, after qualifying for the Powerlifting World Championships I travelled out to Boston USA to compete. Having previously won the British Nationals I was in a good position to represent Great Britain and place top three in the World.

Powerlifting is a self-funded sport, which means for every competition I finance my own travel and expenses. I received a sum of money from the REME, Team Army and the Army Sports Lottery which enabled me to travel to America and stay for a week. During this week I spent three days preparing myself for my biggest competition to date, being able to travel out early and spend some time preparing was vital to my performance on the day.

On the day of the Championships I weighed in well and subsequently won my weight class to become the under 70kg World Champion. Not only this I became the pound for pound female World Champion becoming the first person in the UK Armed Forces to be awarded this accolade within Powerlifting.

I would like to thank the sponsors for enabling me to travel to America and achieve what wouldn’t have been possible without their financial support.
