Sandown Park Racecourse situated in the affluent & pretty town of Esher in Surrey plays host to Grand Military Day every year in March.
The Grand Military marks the climax of the military racing season and is regularly attended by members of the Royal Family and many senior officers. The meeting was first run in 1841 and moved to Sandown Park in 1881.
From a total of six races, the day’s race card features three races dedicated to servicemen and women who relish the challenge of riding round this prestigious course with the opportunity to demonstrate their determination, courage and comradeship as they take on Sandown Park’s formidable fences.
