A thoroughly wet day greeted the many thousands of biking fanatics that follow one of the most exciting race series in the sporting calendar; the British Super Bike championships.  With the Season finale it was simply astonishing to witness the shear courage and skill displayed by these riders, racing on the absolute limits, especially in such treacherous conditions at Brands Hatch over the weekend.   Simply mind boggling!

But whilst the main attraction may well be the BSB, it is equally enthralling to see the incredibly close racing of
the various supporting championships to the Super Bike series, every bit as fast, exciting and dramatic.  Teams from all over the country compete and True Heroes Racing might be considered typical of just such an outfit except they comprise serving or veteran personnel from the Armed Services.  A dedicated team, led by Phil Spencer, is the epitome of amateur petrol-head enthusiasts competing in track racing but with service and ex-servicemen.  Operating as a close-knit team and rising to the challenge of competitive bike racing the team includes a mix of able-bodied and disabled mechanics, riders and supporters successfully competing in this most adrenaline-rushing of motor sports.

As part of a portfolio of many sports, Team Ethos, with the funding provided by our many sponsors, has been pleased to support these efforts and the benefits it brings.  Well done to all the team and we look forward to the season opener in the Spring next year.

True Heroes Racing” is the brain child of a serving Royal Navy sailor who has been lucky enough to return from several Tours of Duty in Afghanistan uninjured. After working with a large number of injured UK Service personnel on motorsport charity events it was decided to try and use competitive motorsport as a way of restoring a sense of direction and focus for our injured UK Service personnel and in 2012 “True Heroes Racing” was formed.
