What a fabulous day for the many families and fans of polo and the festive atmosphere that accompanies the annual battle for the Rundle Cup between the Army and Royal Navy. The rivalry and contest for this trophy dates back to 1910 with the teams based in Malta and has been contested at Tidworth every year since 1976. The weather did its best to upset proceedings and indeed the parachute display team were unable to perform due to low cloud, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the healthy crowd at Tidworth and the ensuing Rundle Cup match, sponsored for the second year by Palantir.

It was a full house for the Team Forces hospitality where hosts, led by former President of Royal Navy Polo, Admiral Sir Tim Fraser KCB ADC who joined a star-studded list of VIPs, sponsors and supporters for a fantastic reception and lunch before dodging the rain and being treated to an impressive spectacle of service Polo played at its very best and most competitive. With the amusing and excellent commentary provided by the legend Simon Ledger, the teams thrilled the crowd with their display of skill and courage with a really close battle which at the final whistle resulted in a 5-3 victory for the Army.

It was a memorable day with the best of sport and hospitality for all to enjoy. A particular thank you goes to Palantir for their sponsorship of the event but also all the remaining guests who made it such an occasion and keeps this event as one of those special jewels in the sporting and social calendar.
