Last Wednesday, Team Forces hosted a brilliant clay shooting day at E.J. Churchill’s world-class shooting ground on the West Wycombe Estate. With around 70 sponsors and military guests, it was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to connect and learn more about Team Forces and how we support the military community through sport, challenge, and adventure.
The day began with a welcome from Major General Lamont Kirkland, CEO of Team Forces, followed by an introduction from Jonathan Bridges, Chief Innovation Officer at Exponential-e, who kindly sponsored the event. Exponential-e provide secure, scalable digital infrastructure for many industries including defence. Guests also heard insights from a representative from the Royal Signals on how marksmanship translates to operational effectiveness, as well as tips for the day.
Importantly, the event offered a unique chance for people from across the defence sector to meet in a relaxed setting, build relationships, and understand each other better. Whether experienced hot shots or complete first-timers guided by Churchill’s fantastic instructors, everyone enjoyed the camaraderie and the chance to unwind together.
We wrapped up with a champagne reception, lunch, and prize-giving. The winning team and our most improved ladies’ and men’s guns celebrated with champagne and took home smart Exponential-e caps as a memento of a truly worthwhile day, while the runners-up collected their caps and wooden spoons with a smile.
