The Birkett 6-Hour Relay returned to Silverstone on Saturday, continuing its legacy as the world’s oldest sports-car relay race. Hosted by the 750 Motor Club, the event showcased the best of endurance racing, camaraderie and service pride.

Carwood, who are specialists in engineering, remanufacturing and technical vehicle services across automotive and defence sectors, once again sponsored the prestigious Inter-Service Cup.  This saw teams from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force battle it out for top honours. In a fiercely contested race, the Royal Navy claimed victory, with the Army finishing second and the RAF close behind in third.

Team Forces hosted around 30 military and sponsor guests, including Atos, BMC, Carwood, Check Point, Heckler & Koch, Infrastar, Leidos, Palo Alto Networks and PointWire.  The event was a great chance to experience the thrill of the event up close and meet the service teams they help to support.

All enjoyed a hearty lunch served from a field kitchen and despite the chill in the air, the autumn sunshine made for a bright and lively day, as sponsors and supporters watched the action unfold from the stands and also some got to go across to the pit wall.

Chris from Carwood and Air Marshal Paul Lloyd presented cheques, rounding off the day with well-earned recognition for the winning service teams and a celebration of the spirit that makes this event so special.
