Team Forces is delighted to congratulate beneficiary Lexi Chambers on another extraordinary achievement after successfully wheeling herself up the legendary Alpe d’Huez in a standard everyday wheelchair.

Ahead of this year’s Tour de France, the nurse and adaptive athlete set herself one of her toughest challenges yet, taking on the iconic climb in pursuit of another Guinness World Record as part of preparations for her ambitious End2End USA expedition.
Widely regarded as one of the toughest climbs in cycling, Alpe d’Huez is famous for its 21 hairpin bends and relentless ascent. Completing the climb in a standard everyday wheelchair demanded exceptional physical endurance, determination and mental resilience, making Lexi’s achievement all the more remarkable.
The challenge served as the perfect warm-up for Lexi’s next major adventure. In 2027, she plans to wheel herself across America in the same everyday wheelchair, taking on thousands of miles to demonstrate what is possible through resilience, perseverance and self-belief, while raising vital funds for Team Forces.
Lexi’s determination embodies everything Team Forces stands for: using challenge and adventure to inspire confidence, build resilience and demonstrate that perceived limitations can be overcome.

Lexi’s success on Alpe d’Huez is far more than a personal milestone. It demonstrates the power of resilience, preparation and determination, while inspiring others to look beyond perceived barriers and embrace challenges of their own.
The climb also provided an invaluable opportunity to test equipment, pacing, nutrition and physical endurance ahead of next year’s expedition, offering important lessons that will help shape preparations for her coast-to-coast journey across the United States.

About Lexi Chambers
Lexi Chambers is a UK Army veteran and former NHS nurse from Exeter. In 2019, faced with debilitating Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, she made the decision to choose a below-knee amputation – an act of defiance and control over a condition that had taken so much from her.
She didn’t slow down. She accelerated. Lexi became a seven-time Guinness World Record holder, wheeling over 1,400km from John O’Groats to Land’s End in 2024 – pushing the equivalent of Everest 1.5 times in a standard everyday wheelchair.
Now she’s setting her sights on something no one has done before: 4,812.2km across the entirety of the United States, coast to coast, in 115 days. Raising vital funds for veterans and armed forces families through Team Forces.
