AARON MOON – ONE LEG. 2,486 MILES. NO REST DAYS.

Route 66 – One mission: to prove that limits are there to be pushed – and to bring hope and strength to others.

Aaron Moon is a former Royal Marines Commando who lost his leg in Afghanistan in 2009 after his vehicle was struck by an IED. Refusing to be defined by injury, Aaron has rebuilt his life with unshakable resilience. He went on to become a professional golfer, the world’s first amputee indoor skydiving instructor, a motivational speaker, and a TV personality on Channel 4’s Hunted.

In January 2025, Aaron faced yet another battle for his life when he survived a catastrophic saddle blood clot. Doctors gave him little chance of making it through—but once again, he defied the odds. That fighting spirit, forged on the battlefield and tested in recovery, continues to drive him forward.

Now, Aaron is taking on his most ambitious challenge yet: cycling the entire 2,517 miles of the legendary Route 66 in just 22 days. That’s one of the toughest endurance rides in the world—made even tougher with one leg, and no rest days.

Arron said, “This ride is more than a physical challenge it’s a statement of resilience and possibility. After losing my leg in Afghanistan and facing a life-threatening blood clot this year, I’ve committed myself to proving that the mind is stronger than any adversity. To prepare, I’ve been training daily, pushing through pain, adapting to limits, and shaping a narrative that says: don’t stop when you fall. Every mile, every pedal stroke, every dawn wake-up builds toward the moment I’ll launch from Chicago. This is Route 66, 2,517 miles in 24 days, no rest and I want people to see that if I can do this, maybe they can too.”

This journey isn’t just about distance—it’s about determination. It’s about showing what’s possible when you refuse to quit. And it’s about using his story to inspire others, raise awareness of the challenges faced by veterans and amputees, and give back to the causes close to his heart.

👉🏻 You can be part of this mission. Every mile Aaron rides is a testament to resilience, but he can’t do it alone. By donating, you’ll not only support him through this gruelling challenge but also help raise vital funds for his chosen charities. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and show that no obstacle is too great to overcome.

Aaron’s Challenge is kindly sponsored by Spectra Group which designs and delivers mission-ready, secure communication systems for defence, security, and emergency organizations, using products like its SlingShot and Troposcatter systems to provide reliable and resilient voice and data connectivity.
