Royal Artillery Gold Cup – Thursday 19th February

We are delighted to invite you to attend the Military Gold Cup race day at Sandown Park on Thursday 19th February 2026. This is a significant and long-established event in the Forces sporting calendar, steeped in racing and military heritage, with the Royal Artillery Gold Cup for military amateur jockeys as the feature race. We are pleased to welcome back Boxxe as our event headline sponsor.

Team Forces is also an official sponsor and provides financial assistance to the competing jockeys from all three services. Alongside a full card of jump racing, there will be military involvement and activity throughout the afternoon.

Hospitality Timings

All guests will join us in the Team Forces Hospitality Gold Cup Suite.

  • 11:00am – Arrival and registration

  • 12:00pm – Welcome and race card introduction *

  • 12:15pm – Lunch

  • 1:20pm – Racing starts

  • 4:45pm – Racing finsihes

  • 5:15pm – Bars close

  • 5:45pm – Departure

* We will again be joined by the fantastic Lt Col (Retd) Simon Ledger who will guide guests through the runners and riders, explain the odds, and help make the racing easy to follow – including how to pick a winner!

How to Get to Sandown Racecourse

By Train

Trains run from London Waterloo to Esher (about 30 minutes). The racecourse is a 10-minute walk from the station.

By Car

  • Please enter “Portsmouth Road” into your Sat Nav for the main car park.
    Parking is free for all hospitality guests. On arrival, please let the car park attendants know that you are attending with Team Forces.
  • A car-parking e-label will be issued before the event; please have this ready on your phone when you arrive.
  • Accessible parking is available for Blue Badge holders. Stewards will guide you to the closest bays near the main entrance.

On Arrival:

  • Please check in with a member of the Team Forces team, who will be positioned at the entrance next to a Team Forces flag.
  • Our hospitality space is the Gold Cup Suite on the second floor, and it will be clearly signposted.
  • Hospitality tickets can be collected from the Team Forces desk on arrival. Your name badges and lanyards will be waiting for you on your designated table.

What to Wear

Dress for the day is smart or business attire. Tweed, outfits (dresses and tailored suits) are popular choices, and with February weather in mind, warm layers and sensible footwear is advised.
