This year marks the 125th Anniversary of the Army Football Association (AFA).
One of the major events to mark this occasion is a charity match against an FA Legends team at the Madejski Stadium, Reading, on Saturday 18 May. This, together with a variety of fixtures and events over 2013/ 2014 forms part of the Football Associations 150th Anniversary celebrations.
The England Manager, Roy Hodgson will manage FA Legends team whilst Stuart Pearce, England U-21 Manager will take charge of the Army First XI.
In addition to celebrating these two anniversaries, the purpose of the match is to raise as much money as possible for the Team Army Sports Foundation and The Royal British Legion.
Kick-off is scheduled for 1600 and after the match, General Sir Peter Wall, President of the AFA will hold his annual Presidents Dinner in the Madejski Millennium Hotel with leading figures from the football world for company.
