Team Army supports first team of injured soldiers to take part in the British 24-Hour Karting Championship.

Sapper Tom Folwell, Cpl Davie Birrell, Pte Mark Allen and Pte Ryan Goodman – who lost eight legs and eight fingers between them while serving in Afghanistan – have nicknamed themselves Team Legs as they compete in a field of able bodied teams in the gruelling 24 hour race in one and half hour relays.  They will be the first quartet of injured troops to participate in the race.

The team were brought together by Kartforce, a charity focused on the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers through competitive karting.  KartForce is affiliated to BAMA and is supported by Team Army both financially and in terms of professional advice.

Team Army are actively engaged in encouraging and supporting all strands of adaptive sport in recognition of the fantastic value sport plays in the process of rehabilitation and re-building lives.

We would like to thank Barclays Bank, who are currently fundraising for Team Army and are helping fund KartForce’s racing programme.  We would also like to acknowledge and thank the Team Army sponsors who currently support KartForce:  The Royal British LegionBabcock and NP Aerospace.
