Whilst perhaps not remembered for the success at the Tote, the Grand Military day at Sandown race course on 6th March was again a huge success for Team Army, industry and guests.

The event marks the day on the racing calendar where several races consist of military jockeys all riding for glory over the fences. Bathed in spring sunshine, it was a tremendous day out for 60 Team Army sponsors, military VIPs and guests who were able to enjoy the hospitality of a catered suite and the excitement of a day at the races. A reception, lunch and tea provided a full programme on the gastronomic stakes and the assembled throng also enjoyed the tips and racing wisdom of our guest speaker, Simon Ledger. With his in-depth knowledge, string of supporting jockeys and none too reliable tips, the gathering was both enthralled and entertained by his stories from around the equine world.

This was another hugely successful Team Army sporting event which has grown in popularity over the years. Encompassing entertainment, business, fun and a little flutter, it had something for all and will again feature in 2016. This gives plenty of time to study the form – perhaps a few more might succeed in backing a winner!  Roll on 2016!
